STATEMENT: Pioneer79 Swimming Club Update 28.07.20
28 July 2020 | adminleveridge
I’m pleased to bring you up to speed with what has been going on within Pioneer79 Swimming Club in recent weeks.
As of 25 July 2020, indoor swimming recommenced, and I would like to reassure parents and guardians that Pioneer79’s committee members and coaches are working incredibly hard with our pool providers, Accrington Academy and QEGS Blackburn, to ensure we resume swimming as quickly and as safely as possible.
All Pioneer79 members should have received a pre-training COVID-19 health screening survey – if you haven’t yet completed and returned yours, please send it to [email protected], otherwise you won’t be able to access our sessions.
One of Swim England’s key recommendations is to establish a COVID-19 Officer, and we thank Sarah Mann for taking on this important role and ask all members to respect the commitment she has made by assisting wherever possible.
Elsewhere, feedback from Pioneer79’s land sessions, which are held every Tuesday at 17:00, has been incredibly positive, and with two weeks left to run, there’s still time to sign up by emailing [email protected]
Our open-water swimming sessions, meanwhile, are growing in popularity, and with more and more members from the Performance, Gold and Silver groups turning out each week, we are now having to organise extra sessions with our open-water provider to cope with demand.
Finally, it’s important to reiterate that Pioneer79 Swimming Club will not profit from the COVID-19 crisis; any additional monies after core staff have been paid will be given back to the membership in the form of further fee reductions or a hardship fund.
The voluntary fee reduction (50 per cent of the normal monthly fee) is open to all, but a huge thank you to those who are able to continue paying their normal rates.
