CrowdStrike Racing by APR will unite George Kurtz with Nicky Catsburg and Alex Quinn in a bid to take back the LMP2 Pro-Am winners’ trophy in the 93rd 24 Hours of Le Mans (14-15 June).

The CrowdStrike-Algarve Pro partnership has produced high-profile successes across three continents, as the team was crowned 2023-24 Asian Le Mans Series Champion after landing a momentous LMP2 Pro-Am win in 2023’s Le Mans Centenary.

The Le Mans triumph was attributed to superlative driving, CrowdStrike Racing’s thorough preparation, as well as a supreme attention-to-detail in the way each track session was managed – an approach that also carried the team to the 2023 IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup.

Last year, the quest for a second consecutive LMP2 Pro-Am victory ended abruptly at the 11th hour. This year, the team carries forward valuable lessons learned and a renewed determination in its bid to reclaim the coveted winners’ trophy on June 14-15.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to the 24 Hours of Le Mans with CrowdStrike Racing by APR, alongside two incredibly talented teammates – Nicky Catsburg and Alex Quinn,” said Kurtz. “This race is the pinnacle of endurance motorsport, and we’re coming in fully focused and ready to fight for the podium. Algarve Pro Racing knows how to win Le Mans and the ultimate dream would be to replicate the great success we had in 2023, taking back the LMP2 Pro-Am victory.”

Catsburg, meanwhile, has a stellar career in production-based GT racing and is unquestionably one of the most accomplished sportscar drivers in the world.

In a remarkable 2023 season, the Dutchman captured both the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) GTE Am and Asian Le Mans Series GT titles.  His first Le Mans win in a Chevrolet Corvette was backed up by victories in the Nürburgring 24 Hours and CrowdStrike Spa 24 Hours.

Catsburg’s first runout at Le Mans in a prototype came last year with CrowdStrike Racing, but he has since driven plenty of competitive miles in LMP2 machinery that will put him “in a good spot” as the team looks towards the top step of the iconic Le Mans podium.

“I’m really happy to be back with CrowdStrike Racing by APR for the 93rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans,” said Catsburg. “The 2024 race was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to get started again. I now have a bit more LMP2 mileage under my belt after competing in the Asian Le Mans Series, and this will undoubtedly help me. I’m also looking forward to working with George (Kurtz) again, and Alex (Quinn) will be a new teammate for me. We should be in a good spot all-in-all.”

Quinn first arrived at Algarve Pro as a reigning IMSA LMP2 Champion and the team-driver combination has collected plenty of LMP2 Pro-Am trophies since the beginning of the 2024 European Le Mans Series.

However, the British racer covets a Le Mans victory more than anything and, as it was ‘the one that got away’ last year, he’s fired up and more determined than ever to fulfil his ambition.

“I’m really excited to be joining CrowdStrike Racing by APR at the 24 Hours of Le Mans,” said Quinn. “I had a strong race at Circuit de la Sarthe in 2024, just falling short of the win, so the only goal for this year is to come away with the victory. We have a really good driver line-up, as George (Kurtz) is showing great pace and we all know how quick Nicky (Catsburg) is, so I think we have a strong chance. One major benefit is that I will be working with the same Algarve Pro crew as the European Le Mans Series – we have a good relationship and it will mean we can hit the ground running. All-in-all, I can’t wait to return to what is a very special event and to make the dream of winning Le Mans a reality.”
