DW Racing has proudly launched its 2025 Fine Cut Radical Cup UK programme, welcoming London-based racer Alex Fisher to its driver roster during official pre-season testing at Donington Park (Friday 14 March).
The 36-year-old Commodities Trader was raised in Weybridge, Surrey but now resides in Central London, having previously lived and worked in Amsterdam for a decade and Chicago for two years.
A lifelong motorsport enthusiast, Fisher piloted karts in Oxford University’s intra-college tournaments while studying Mechanical Engineering, and races against Cambridge University stoked an age-old rivalry that is most famously played out in the iconic Boat Race on the River Thames.
His passion laid dormant for many years, until casual trackdays and a series of tests led to a 2024 Radical Cup North America appearance at Sonoma Raceway in California.
Fisher showed a great deal of promise as a regular top-five finisher and, spurred on by his performances, he tested with DW Racing before committing to his first ever full-season campaign in the 2025 Radical Cup UK, which will begin on the Donington Park Grand Prix circuit on 29-30 March.
“I’m really grateful to have the opportunity to compete in the 2025 Fine Cut Radical Cup UK with DW Racing, which has provided a great level of support and guidance since we first connected,” said Fisher. “We have a good rapport and DW Racing is a great operation that encompasses a lot of highly skilled people, and the team has used its expertise to place me on an upward trajectory.
“It will no doubt be a steep learning curve and I’ll be incredibly happy if I achieve a podium this year. The main thing is to have a good time, but I am taking it very seriously. I want to enjoy the process of improving, so we have tested and I’m spending as much time as possible on simulators to ensure I’m as ready as I can be.”
DW Racing Team Owner, Darren Winter, said: “We’re delighted to launch DW Racing’s 2025 Fine Cut Radical Cup UK campaign during official testing at Donington Park, and it’s a real pleasure to welcome Alex (Fisher) to the fold. He showed a lot of promise in North America and during our test programme, so I’m feeling good about his prospects.
“Alex has a lot to learn and it would be unwise to underestimate the challenge and the opposition, but we have a proven ability to help drivers progress and achieve their objectives. In fact, I take great pleasure from seeing team members improve and that’s why I’m genuinely looking forward to getting the 2025 season rolling.”
