RLR MSport is delighted to confirm that Chris Short will take up his place alongside Nick Adcock and Ian Aguilera in the #15 Ligier JSP320 LMP3 for the remainder of the 2024-25 Asian Le Mans Series.
Short started racing in the 2018 Radical SR1 Cup and later graduated to more powerful, higher downforce SR3 machinery in the Radical Cup Challenge in the UK, achieving his maiden win at Belgium’s historic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in 2021.
The British racer ultimately accrued 14 podium finishes from 53 race starts in Radical Sportscars, and his maiden competitive outing with Revolution sports-prototypes also yielded a race victory.
Those successes preceded two seasons in the Michelin Le Mans Cup’s LMP3 division, but it was in a recent Ultimate Cup European Series outing at Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello that the 49-year old first got acquainted with RLR MSport.
The purpose of the Ultimate Cup entry was to prepare Short for his forthcoming Asian Le Mans programme and it was a great success, as he shared the top step of the Mugello podium with teammates Wyatt Brichacek and James Dayson, who filled in for the Brit in the opening round of the 2024-25 season at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit.
Short is now primed to partner Adcock and Aguilera for the remainder of the current Asian Le Mans Series, which encompasses a pair of four-hour races at Dubai Autodrome (7-8 February) and a double-header at the home of the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Yas Marina Circuit (14-15 February).
“After two seasons competing in the Michelin Le Mans Cup, I am thrilled to be joining RLR MSport for the remainder of the Asian Le Mans Series at Dubai Autodrome and Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi,” said Short. “ Having raced with the team before and tasted victory together in the Ultimate Cup Series, I know firsthand the level of dedication and knowledge it brings. I am excited to be partnering up with Nick Adcock and Ian Aguilera, who are both great drivers, and I can’t wait to get to Dubai and fight for more wins with the team.”
