Will Hunt is the latest professional racing driver to sign up for the 2024 Noah Media Charity Kart Race at Buckmore Park Circuit in Kent (Wednesday 19 June), organised to raise funds for Wings For Life.

Teams of up to six drivers that include one professional racer or celebrity will take on a three-hour endurance race at Buckmore Park, where the likes of seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton honed his talents.

Trophies will be awarded to the top three overall finishers, the individual who records the fastest lap and each driver from the best-placed media company.

Hunt participated in Noah Media Group’s inaugural event in 2022, which collected more than £10,000 in donations for Race Against Dementia – the charity founded by three-time F1 title-winner Sir Jackie Stewart.

In 2024, participants will come together with the aim of raising an even greater sum in support of Wings For Life’s research into spinal cord injury, which the World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates affects between 250,000 and 500,000 people every year.

The charity has supported 299 projects in 20 countries since it was set up, and it is partnered by the Oracle Red Bull Racing F1 team, with Ambassadors that include Alex Albon, David Coulthard, Christian Horner and Susie Wolff.

Mark Webber, a nine-time F1 grand prix winner and Wings For Life Ambassador, said: “Wings for Life is a charity close to my heart with one sole mission: to find a cure for spinal cord injury. Every year, over 250,000 people sustain a spinal cord injury with life-changing consequences. But Wings for Life are working tirelessly to change this and we truly believe we can find a cure within our lifetime. I am very excited to be down at the track for a fun day out that will support life-changing research worldwide. Together, we will find a cure.”

Having been part of Noah Media Group’s fundraising efforts for Race Against Dementia, Hunt is honoured to have received an invitation to participate in the 2024 event, saying: “The Noah Media Charity Kart Race proved to be a fantastic and effective way of raising money while having an enjoyable day out. It enables people to meet and compete with personalities from a wide range of motorsport disciplines, including some very famous faces, who all want to make a difference.

“I really enjoyed and was inspired by the whole experience, so there was no hesitation when I received an invitation to participate in the 2024 edition of the race. I’m sure it will be just as fun and I hope we can raise some serious funds for Wings For Life, eclipsing the previous total.”
