Dear Members, Parents & Guardians,
As has been the case throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, I am writing to update you on recent developments relating to pool availability and the recommencement of both Pioneer79 Swimming Club’s Learn to Swim (LTS) and Squad training programmes.
The club has secured temporary pool time over at QEGS in Blackburn until the end of December 2020.
The Prime Minister’s latest announcement that leisure facilities would have to shut down once again as part of a month-long lockdown to help slow the spread of Coronavirus was certainly not a surprise.
Swim England and Sport England have been lobbying hard for pools to stay open, but we have received confirmation today (Wednesday 4 November) that QEGS will be closed until lockdown is lifted in December.
The safety of our members and everyone involved with the club remains our top priority, and your group coach will be in contact to help and guide our swimmers though the next four weeks.
