In his latest Coronavirus briefing on Monday (23 November), Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that swimming pools and leisure centres will be allowed to reopen when the current national lockdown is lifted.
From Wednesday 2 December, the UK Government will enforce regional tiered restrictions, but it has confirmed that pools will be authorised to stay open in all three tiers from the middle of next week.
We applaud the government’s decision – it’s the positive news we’ve been hoping for – and we’re working with our pool providers on a plan to get our Learn to Swim and Training Groups back in the water as quickly and as safely as possible.
