Algarve Pro Racing remains a contender for a top ten finish in the 88th 24 Hours of Le Mans (19-20 September) after sensational night drives by Simon Trummer, John Falb and Matt McMurry.
Falb and Trummer drove alternate stints in the #25 ORECA 07 LMP2 during the early hours of Sunday morning to re-establish Algarve Pro Racing as a top ten runner for the first time since the sun set on Saturday.
Algarve Pro was in a solid 13th position after 15 hours of racing, but Trummer soon got the better of the #47 Cetilar Racing and #50 Richard Mille Racing machines for P11.
McMurry returned to the fray just before daybreak and was frequently faster than most of those around him.
The American young gun put Richard Mille Racing’s Tatiana Calderon under immense pressure but picked his moment carefully, pouncing to snatch tenth when the lady racer hesitated while trying to negotiate an LMGTE Porsche.
