STATEMENT: Pioneer79 Swimming Club COVID-19 update 14.04.20
14 April 2020 | adminleveridge
I would like to express a huge thank you from myself as Chairman, but also on behalf of the coaches, teachers, committee members and trustees of Pioneer79 Swimming Club.
Last Monday (6 April), we asked you to consider paying a voluntary membership fee, and we have had an overwhelmingly positive response to this request. I understand the difficult position the pandemic has put many people in, and that makes it all the more humbling.
I also want to reiterate that the club will not profit from this crisis and members will be given reductions or hardship support if any funds are left after core staff have been paid.
Coaches are continuing to support our competitive programmes, and on Thursday 16 April we have an activity for the whole club, with a free swimming-specific Pilates session on Zoom, organised in conjunction with Team GB Physio Darren Wigg of Newcastle Physiotherapy. To sign up, please e-mail [email protected]
A reminder that the voluntary 50 per cent fee reduction from May onwards is open to all, and a big thanks to all those who are able to continue paying the normal rate.
I’ll be keeping you updated on what work has been going on and with regards to timings for the pool reopening.
