STATEMENT: Pioneer79 Swimming Club Update 01.07.20

01 July 2020 | adminleveridge

It’s time for another short update on what has been going on at Pioneer79 Swimming Club in recent days.

We’re still unable to give a formal date for our return to the pool, but Swim England has now launched an #OpenOurPools campaign, and you can sign the petition at https://bit.ly/2ZdbIMc

With this in mind, Pioneer79 Swimming Club is actively working towards the resumption of swimming, and all members should have received a ‘Return to Swimming’ survey last week.

We’re very keen to get your thoughts and feedback to ensure the process of re-opening Pioneer79 goes as smoothly as possible, so please do take the time to answer this short questionnaire before the closing date (Friday 3 July), as a completely separate health survey will follow.

In other news, this week’s Strava Champion was Maisie Leuchars. She sits at the top of the tree for the first time, having completed 7h44m30s of physical activity and covered 161.4km over the last seven days. Well done, Maisie!

We also had our first open water swim session for the performance group (pictured), and Golf will be swimming this coming Thursday (2 July).

I want to reiterate the club will not come out of this crisis having made a profit; any additional monies after core staff have been paid will be given back to the membership in the form of further fee reductions or a hardship fund.

The voluntary fee reduction (50 per cent of normal monthly fee) from July is open to all, but a big thanks to those who are able to continue paying their normal rates.
